Directions to the Hotel

From Crianlarich:

Take the A82 signposted Fort William and Oban. Seven miles on, on exiting Tyndrum, veer right to continue on the A82 signposted Fort William. Proceed through the spectacular Rannoch Moor and Glencoe for 40 minutes. On encountering civilisation again, turn right just past the large petrol station, signposted Kinlochleven. Proceed to and through Kinlochleven. The MacDonald Hotel is the second to last building on your left as you leave Kinlochleven towards Fort William.

From Glasgow:

Use the A82 which passes Loch Lomond to reach Crianlarich. Then follow the directions provided above.

From Edinburgh:

Take the M9 motorway to Stirling (approx. 40minutes). At junction 10, take the A84 exit to A85/Crianlarich/Stirling/Callander. At Craigforth Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A84 heading to A85/Crianlarich/Callander. After about 27 miles, in Lochearnhead, slight left onto the A85. Continue on the A85 to Crianlarich, then follow the directions above.

From Edinburgh:

Getting to Kinlochleven by Public Transport:

By Bus:

Shiel Buses bus timetable of the Lochaber area. Kinlochleven is serviced by the number 44 bus, which originates and finishes in Fort William. The 44 also stops at the Glencoe Crossroads, connecting with the City Link buses which run from Glasgow. In the summer months City Link also run a bus from Edinburgh.

By Train:

Kinlochleven is not directly serviced by the trains, but you can travel to Fort William by train, and then get a bus from Fort William to Kinlochleven as described above. However, if you are travelling from Edinburgh or Glasgow, it is often quicker and cheaper to get the bus than it is to get the train.
